Recently, the southern actor Ram Charan faced online backlash for his visit to a dargah. Nonetheless, Upasana Konidela, his wife, intervened to support him, highlighting the significance of honoring every religion while practicing one’s own.

Using her X handle, Upasana Konidela shared a picture of Ram at a dargah, next to the picture, she penned a message, “Faith unites, never divides As Indians, we honor all paths to the divine our strength lies in unity. #OneNationOneSpirit #jaihind @AlwaysRamCharan respecting other religions while following his own.”

Responding to Upasana’s post, a netizen commented, Ma’am respecting other religions doesn’t mean you go to their dargah in ayyappa Mala. We can respect their religion by not insulting their faith and respect what they do without interfering in our religion!” In her response, she forwarded an article titled “Embracing Harmony: Sabarimala’s Unique Tradition of Praying at the Mosque of Vavar.”

Ram Charan attended the 80th National Mushaira Ghazal event at the Kadapa dargah in Andhra Pradesh as the chief guest. Reports indicate that actor Ram had previously promised music icon AR Rahman that he would participate in this year’s event. Staying true to his promise, the ‘RRR’ star participated in the occasion while honoring the Ayyappa Deeksha, as a loyal devotee of the shrine. Ram donned a classic black attire, paired with a big garland adorning his neck. The image also showcased various other individuals, such as singer Mohit Chauhan, standing in the vicinity.

Regarding his professional life, Ram is scheduled to play a leading role in the upcoming movie “Game Changer” under the direction of Shankar. The actor will be playing an IAS officer in the political drama, with a chance of also portraying a double role. The film is scheduled for release on January 10, 2025.
