The Sabarmati Report: I think being Hindu signifies that you are secular
Actor Vikrant Massey revealed that he has been subjected to death threats on social media as a result of his role in the upcoming movie ‘The Sabarmati Report,’ which focuses on the consequences of the 2002 Godhra train incident. Despite the negative online reactions, Massey conveyed trust in the film, stating it is based on real events.
Received Death threats
During the launch of the film’s trailer, Massey recognized the challenges he has encountered but minimized any concern, mentioning that he and the team are addressing it collectively. “I have been getting threatening messages. While not making it obvious, it’s an issue I am managing and we, as a team, are managing together”. Responding to worries regarding the film’s depiction of the 2002 Gujarat riots, Massey stated, “As artists, we narrate stories.” This movie is entirely grounded in reality. Regrettably, you have not viewed the film, so you ought not to form a preconceived idea that it addresses only one aspect.”

Producer Ektaa R Kapoor views
Producer Ektaa R Kapoor responded to inquiries regarding the film’s emphasis on one perspective, stating that the film investigates the roots of the events while not undermining alternative viewpoints. “This is not merely a single aspect, but the primary aspect.” “We are sharing the origin of this initial aspect while not diminishing the other aspects,” she clarified.
She stated, “I am Hindu, and I think being Hindu signifies that you are secular.” I would never say anything negative about any faith. You must watch the movie. However, I will also identify the offenders without disrespecting any faith. “That’s what makes a storyteller so fascinating.”
Ektaa also confirmed that there was no political pressure involved in the making of the film. She highlighted that the film is produced independently and has not requested assistance from any political organization.
Vikrant on working with Ektaa
Massey reflected on his enduring collaboration with Ektaa Kapoor, who provided him with his first major film opportunity in ‘Lootera’ (2013). “This marks our eighth collaborative project, and this time it feels even more unique, I connect with all that we discussed in The Sabarmati Report,” Massey stated.
The Sabarmati Report, produced by Shobha Kapoor, Amul V Mohan, and Anshul Mohan, is scheduled to hit theaters on November 15.
