Mumbai’s vibrant theatre scene witnessed an inspiring production of Anton Chekhov’s classic play The Cherry Orchard, directed by Nirbhay Jain and Vishal Kasana, and produced by Rahul Kumar. This creative endeavor showcases the collaborative efforts of emerging yet accomplished theatre practitioners who bring fresh energy to Chekhov’s timeless tale of societal change and human emotion.
Meet the Directors
Nirbhay Jain began his journey in the performing arts in 2016, training under National School of Drama (NSD) faculties and honing his skills at the Unicorn Actors Studio. With years of experience as a casting director in Mumbai, Nirbhay has worked with renowned filmmakers such as Zoya Akhtar and Karan Anshuman.

Vishal Kasana, a Drama School Mumbai (DSM) graduate, started his artistic journey in Delhi, performing in college productions and collaborating with notable theatre groups like Kshitij Theatre Company and The Company Theatre Mumbai. He has trained extensively at Adishakti in Bangalore, focusing on acting and breathwork, and has worked closely with directors like Jyoti Dogra and Atul Kumar.
About the Producer
Rahul Kumar, a seasoned theatre actor and producer with over 12 years of experience, has played a pivotal role in several acclaimed productions, including Piya Behrupiya and Gagan Damama Bajyo. A core member of Atul Kumar’s The Company Theatre, Rahul specializes in designing creative drama workshops for children and is deeply invested in the success of theatre as an art form.
