The series explores Shreegauri’s transformation, motherhood, and legal struggle that contributed to recognizing the third gender on official documents in India. It starts on JioCinema on August 15th.

Sushmita Sen revealed to a news channel that after watching the web series, Shreegauri Sawant blessed her, kissed her forehead, and presented her with a gift. Shreegauri expressed her approval, saying, “I don’t need to watch it. What she’s doing is right. She’s like a marble statue of mine.”

Sushmita Sen unveiled the trailer for her web series Taali on Monday, captioning it with the words, Gauri aa gayi hai. Apne swabhimaan, sammaan aur swatantrata ki kahaani lekar (Gauri has arrived with her story of self-respect and freedom) . The trailer showcased the life journey of transgender activist Shreegauri Sawant, highlighting her battles for the rights of the third gender in India. The series, written by Kshitij Patwardhan and directed by Ravi Jadhav, narrates Shreegauri’s journey from childhood to adulthood. Earlier, Sushmita had shared a teaser, calling it a journey from abuse to claps, emphasizing Shreegauri’s fight for India’s third gender rights.
