Singham Again Box Office Day 5: Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty’s Action Film Surpasses ₹150 Crore Despite Significant Drop in Collections

Rohit Shetty’s much-awaited action-packed film, Singham Again, starring Ajay Devgn in the same role, continues to be in the news at the box office. On the fifth day of its release, the movie has achieved a significant milestone by crossing ₹150 crore in India. Despite witnessing a noticeable dip in collections as the Diwali holiday season comes to an end, Singham Again remains strong at the box office, adding to its impressive overall earnings.

Day 5 Box Office Performance

On Tuesday, the film collected ₹13.50 crore net in India which is a 25 percent decline from Monday collection which was ₹18 crore. Even though this drop was foreseen as it is the end of the festival season, Singham Again has been performing consistently as its five-day India collections now stand at ₹153.25 crore. The film crossing ₹150 crores in the first week itself is a testament to its popularity among audiences, particularly during the Diwali weekend, which has proved to be a highly profitable one.

While the Indian market has always been close to the heart of the film, Singham Again went great in foreign markets also and minted almost $6 million (over ₹50 crore). Such numbers at the overseas box office have already helped the worldwide run surpass ₹200 crore mark by Monday. While its weekdays keep staying well within the theatres, producers are hopeful that this kind of decline would normalize in coming weekends and thus have something good to expect there too.

The Legacy of Singham Again

Singham Again is the third in a series of movies under the banner of Rohit Shetty’s Cop Universe: Simmba and Sooryavanshi are the other two parts of his Cop Universe. The story is an Avengers-style crossover, where Ajay Devgn reprises his role as Bajirao Singham- the fearless supercop- supported by a long list of star-studded actors/actresses: Kareena Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff, and Arjun Kapoor are few in the list of these roles. Additionally, the great post-credit cameo arrives with Salman Khan as he retakes his iconic Chulbul Pandey from the Dabangg series which actually adds to the film.

Audience Reception and Critic Review

Mixed-to-positive reviews from critics have been received for Singham Again. High-octane action sequences and interesting storytelling of the movie have earned it accolades from critics and audiences alike. Some of the performances have, however, been criticized. It is still doing well with the audience of the Singham franchise and Shetty’s Cop Universe because it does promise larger-than-life action and star power for its opening weekend box office collections.

The real test for the movie is to see how it would sustain its momentum during the second week and maintain the momentum at the box office.
