It’s Shamita Shetty’s birthday! You might know her from Bigg Boss 15, but Shetty stole our hearts way back in 2001 after the release of Mohabbatein. This was her first film for which she also bagged an IFFA award for the best female debut. She gained immense popularity after her popular dance number Sharara Sharara. However, afterwards, there was a decline seen in the popularity graph of the actress. While on the other hand, her elder sister Shilpa Shetty was giving hits one after another.
Shamita and her Bollywood Journey
In one of the episodes of Bigg Boss 15, Shamita emotionally said, “It was difficult to live under Shilpa’s (Shetty) Shadow”.
Shamita openly talked about the difficulty she faced being a Nepo-star. She has always been recognized as Shilpa Shetty’s sister, and her real personality hid behind this shadow.
For Shamita, acting was not her first love. She is also an interior designer and earned her fashion design degree from SNDT College, Mumbai. She had also interned with celebrity fashion designer Manish Malhotra. Her love for interior designing took her to London for professional assistance.
However, Shetty has been to Bigg Boss before. In 2009, she was in the house of BB3 but took a voluntary exit as, at the time, Shilpa Shetty was getting married to Raj Kundra and she wanted to be a part of her sister’s big day. She was also that part of Bigg Boss OTT.

Apart from her professional career, Shetty spilled the beans on her love life. She revealed the reason for her single status. Shamita and Neha Bhasin became best friends during the reality show, and she shared some secrets of her life with her. While sobbing, she revealed that one of her boyfriends had died in a severe accident. This incident left her with huge grief, and she is still recovering from his loss.
We believe that it must be Shetty’s true love! However, Shamita did try to find love again.

Recently, she was linked up with TV actor Aamir Ali. However, Ali quashed all the rumours through a Twitter video. He said in the video, “If someone comes home, I generally drop them at the door, whoever that is. A friend of mine was there, and I escorted her to her car. I was being a friend, and it became something else. Guys, we are single. I am single, and she is single. We are just very close friends and about it. That’s about it.”
This was about a video spreading like wildfire on social media where Shamita was posing for paps outside the restaurant. At the same time, Aamir escorted her to the car and also landed a kiss on her cheek.
Well, well, Shamita and Ali both might be more reluctant to confirm any relationship rumours. In 2021, Ali ended his long-term marriage with Sanjeeda Sheikh, while Shamita broke up with Raqesh Bapat in 2022.
