At the 24th International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards in Abu Dhabi, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan made a series of light-hearted confessions, including a funny jibe at his contemporary Aamir Khan. The Pathaan actor expressed his personal regret for missing out on Pushpa: The Rise, a blockbuster that won Allu Arjun a National Award, and joked that Aamir shouldn’t have accepted the lead in Laal Singh Chaddha, the 2022 movie that did poorly at the box office.

Shah Rukh replied, “Even Aamir Khan shouldn’t have done that movie,” with a lighthearted smirk, which made Vicky and the audience burst out laughing. He then followed up to make sure there were no hard feelings, saying, “I love you, Aamir,” which made it obvious that his comment was made in jest.

Shah Rukh Khan jokingly asserted during the occasion that he is frequently approached by directors for big roles before other actors are given the opportunity to play them. Co-hosting the show with Shah Rukh, Vicky Kaushal couldn’t help but inquire as to whether Shah Rukh was initially considered for Laal Singh Chaddha, the official Forrest Gump adaption that Aamir Khan ultimately appeared in.
