As Saif Ali Khan is ready to kick start his much anticipated film Devara amidst his lavish vacations on Greek Islands, he came clear about Karan Johar’s comments on the high charges Bollywood celebrities demanded. During promotion of his movies, Saif amusingly countered Karan Johar’s statement that the industry has star kids who dont ensure a hit despite their high remunerations. The man must be stupid; sounds like he wants to cut our pay! I’ll form my own union. I do not like the phrase of pay cuts – let the cheques remain intact!” and that depicted how he avoids any talk of cutting the salaries.

He also acknowledged the fluctuating and complex balance of power business when he spoke at the India Today Conclave. He said, “That is the reason economy of our industry is like this.” Essentially you go for a star and at times he/she bluntly tells you, ‘This is what it will cost to get me.’” While he agrees that the financial picture can get distorted, he also pointed out that the industry is a fairly bulletproof one saying, “We are recession proof.” Saif said that Karan’s words are actually a stark indication of a harsh truth in the unprofessional world of overcharging and lazy work.
