Richa Chadha Birthday: A Trivia to her best performances
Richa Chadha Birthday: From Bholi Punjaban to Wassepur’s Nagma, here are the Best performances of Richa that made her a household name
It is 18th December, and one of our very favourite actresses, Richa Chadha, has turned 35 today. Richa Chadha, among the most vocal actresses in the industry, is undoubtedly one of our very favourites. A woman, who came out of no strings of Nepotism (if we can say that), Richa started her career in a supporting role in films and series like Oye Lucky Lucky Oye, a comedy film, Benny and Babloo and made her appearances as a supporting actor in films like Gangs of Wasseypur and Goliyoon ki Raas Leela – Ramleela. But for what you precisely know her for must have been her performance, either in Masaan or in Fukrey. Well, here are some of the best performances by Richa Chadha.
It’s Richa Chadha birthday, and here are her Best performances
Masaan
If there is any film, we can recognize Richa Chadha and wholeheartedly appreciate her performance as Devi in Masaan. An art film from which people started associating Richa with a particular kind of cinema that doesn’t have any name but is just impactful. Screened at Cannes, Masaan had set the benchmark, and so did Devi Pathak, aka Richa Chadha.

Fukrey
Well, we would have kept Fukrey first and Masaan second, but no, Richa in Masaan has made all the difference for us. Richa Chadha in Fukrey was a different ball of power and entertainment. She was cunning, entertaining, and most of all, her character was the boss of herself. She ruled over the four guys and made it a blast of comedy and satire.
Section 375
A film that we believe didn’t receive the recognition it deserved, and neither did Richa Chadha’s character as a public prosecutor. Section 375 is a film that deals with the case of sexual assault where a film producer is alleged of raping a costume artist. Showing the duality of a crime, Richa, as a public prosecutor, happens to help the female victim win the case. Still, the case findings leave her in a dilemma that the woman she supported even raped.
Sarabjit
Sukhpreet Kaur, the wife of Sarabjit, in the film Sarabjit. Well, the film did commercially just find and had mixed reviews from the audience and critics. Yet, the viewers appreciated Richa’s performance as Sukhpreet Kaur. She was nominated for the best supporting actor at several places for this role.
Gangs of Wasseypur – Part 2
We have heard people saying, Wasseypur has made careers of many, and the same is what it did to Chadha. She confessed in interviews that her role as Nagma Khatoon in Wasseypur made her call for several film roles. Being part of both the parts of Gangs of Wasseypur, Richa absolutely made the viewers happy with her screen presence.
So, this Birthday, we would like to send our best wishes to Richa and hope for more outstanding performances from her as she is already filming two films, Shakeela and Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai.
