Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced that the renowned music composer and songwriter Hamsalekha, also known as Gangaraju, will kickstart this year’s Mysuru Dasara festivities. Hamsalekha will inaugurate the 10-day festival, which holds significant cultural importance in Karnataka, from October 15 to 24. The festival is set to feature an air show, exhibition, and various cultural events.

Celebration Highlights
The inauguration will likely take place at Chamundi Hills in Mysuru, with an auspicious time chosen between 10:15 to 10:30 a.m., following prayers to goddess Chamundeshwari. The Dasara festival, celebrated annually in Mysuru, culminates in the jamboo savari procession, where elephants carry the Goddess Chamundeshwari idol through the city, accompanied by cultural showcases reflecting. This is the main attraction as the Dasara elephants carry the idol of Goddess Chamundeshwari around the city as cultural programmes also go on to exhibit Karnataka’s culture and traditions, with a touch of royal history.
