Ranveer Allahbadia, Emraan Hashmi Discuss Struggles, Fake Friendships in Bollywood
An emotional episode of The Ranveer Show is when YouTuber-podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia popularly known as BeerBiceps converses quite frankly with Bollywood’s very own Emraan Hashmi. The discussion revolves around the emotional challenges public life poses, the hollowness inherent in relationships in the entertainment space, and what it means to form those relations with someone who’s real.
Traversing Personal Turmoil
Ranveer Allahbadia opened up on a “low phase” in his life due to a controversy about his appearance on India’s Got Latent during which he made an inappropriate joke leading to huge backlash. Looking back over that period, he said how the whole saga would force him to think about personal and professional relationships, talking about the role of authenticity and support at difficult times.
Emraan Hashmi on “The Reality Check on the Illusions of Friendship in Bollywood”
Resonating to what he believes to be an experience shared with Allahbadia, Emraan Hashmi, in promotion of his new film Ground Zero, also shared his own introspection about the way relationships work in the industry. He remarked, “When your chips are down, you really find out who your true friends are. All the rest silently slips away.” This might suggest that the word “friend” is often misused in Bollywood, where things are more transactional than real in most cases.
The Bitter Truths of Fame
Hashmi recounted the time in his career when 2018-2019 saw the release of films like Cheat India and The Body, which failed massively at the box office. For him, now he has come to understand that industry admiration is really short-lived; as he puts it: “I have seen how the industry serenades you during your high points. But all of that disappears after just one bad Friday.” He elaborated on how the industry commoditizes artists; talking about how people value themselves more on marketability than even humanity.
Mutual Understanding and Shared Reflections
The discussion by Allahbadia and Hashmi brought out clearly the emotional toll public scrutiny takes and the importance of resilience in character. The two were clear that while there is fame and fortune in it, the industry also demands one’s strength and ability to spot the real from the fake relationships. Their discourse also served as a reminder that the society behind its public persona experiences similar human experiences as all in need of authentic connections.

Looking Ahead
Set for release on April 25, Hashmi’s forthcoming film Ground Zero, a conflict drama set in Kashmir, is directed by Tejas Vijay Deoskar. Emraan Hashmi seems to be able to showcase his talent a notch higher in the film, which is bound to strengthen his image in the industry even further.
This episode of The Ranveer Show brought to listeners the otherwise rarely publicized personal trials that public figures go through vis-a-vis the more credible approach to real resilience and human connection in adversity.
