Popular YouTuber and influencer Ranveer Allahbadia, aka BeerBiceps, has been in the midst of controversy for his inappropriate comments on the reality show India’s Got Latent. He has been severely criticized, along with comedian Samay Raina, for reportedly making an indecent remark during a show episode. The controversy began when Allahbadia posed a creepy question to a contestant regarding body parts and made an indecent offer of Rs 2 crore.
The outrage came to a fever pitch when, on the program, a rather inapt question was asked: “Would you watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join once to stop it forever?” This comment also brought about rampant criticism on social media, and many people said it was distasteful and offensive.
Following the incident, a police complaint was lodged against Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, and other fellow judges, such as Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Makhija. The FIR, which was registered under different sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), charges them with encouraging obscene and sexually explicit material on the show. This legal action also heightened the public criticism of the show and its judges.
Ranveer Allahbadia’s Reaction to the Scandal
In the wake of the backlash, Ranveer Allahbadia took up the challenge with a video message where he made a public apology. He confessed that the comment was improper and admitted it did not find its way as a joke. “My comment wasn’t inappropriate, it was not even funny. I’m not good at comedy. I am here simply to apologize.”. Several of you wanted to know if this is how I’d like to employ my platform and clearly, it is not. I am not going to offer any background, explanation, or rationale behind what occurred. I am here just for an apology,” he asserted.
Alongside this, Samay Raina, who was also involved with India’s Got Latent, went ahead and removed all the episodes of the show on YouTube. This was viewed as an effort to contain the damage following the controversy.

The incident has also led to a heated debate regarding responsible content creation and the influence of influencers on their followers. While some welcome Ranveer’s apology, others feel that such comments should never have been uttered in the first place.
