Rajinikanth’s “Jailer” Gathers ₹19 Crore in Advance Bookings, Eyes Big Hit

Rajinikanth’s upcoming film “Jailer” is poised to become a monumental success, potentially s-ranking among his biggest hits to date. The movie’s advance bookings have already amassed a staggering ₹19 crore, and with a day left until its release on August 10, the excitement and anticipation are palpable.
Reportedly, the film has raked in ₹12.8 crore in India through advance bookings alone. The Tamil version contributed ₹11.7 crore, while the Telugu version added ₹1.1 crore to the tally. Even in the United States, the response has been extraordinary, with 37,000 tickets sold, amassing a collection of $802,628 (approximately ₹6.64 crore). Industry analysts predict that the movie is likely to breach the $1 million mark in advance ticket sales in the US.

The distribution of theatrical rights of “Jailer” saw a significant financial arrangement. The rights were sold for ₹123 crore in total, with Tamil Nadu contributing ₹60 crore, Karnataka contributing ₹10 crore, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana bringing in ₹12 crore, and Kerala contributing ₹5.5 crore. The remaining parts of India contributed ₹4 crore to the sum.

Notably, Rajinikanth’s remuneration for this project has drawn attention, reportedly amounting to a substantial ₹110 crore. Additionally, celebrated actor Mohanlal, who features in a pivotal role, is said to have earned ₹8 crore.
