Ragini Tandan Praises Yo Yo Honey Singh for His Public Apology and Discusses the Challenges of Artist Recognition, Social Media Trends, and Being Replaced in ‘Lamberghini’ Remake
In the recent past, singer-rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh came out in the media to declare his love for the popular song “Lamberghini” without knowledge of the identity of the singer. This eventually made Ragini Tandan, the singer behind the 2018 hit song, make another reel in response to Honey Singh’s statement. Her reel soon received millions of views and Honey Singh had to defend himself and apologize in the comments.

Calm down and touched by Singh’s sincere apology, Ragini, said, “It is very brave of him to do that so openly especially on the social media platform, Instagram It shows how humble and genuine he is, that he can admit that he was wrong and say ‘Yes I didn’t know’. It’s really great to know that a big artist like him is willing to go out of his way to help out someone like me.”
Honey Singh also addressed the same issue saying that it is also the industry’s problem that they do not recognize talent like Ragini. Ragini agrees with this, she says, “Yes recognition and credit is what artist want as that is how artists grow, people get to identify you from the credit section, that is what that industry needs to work on.”

Ragin also noted the ephemeral nature of the current trend in music and pointed accusingly at social media for causing people to forget songs as quickly as they listen to them. “Today songs are made for reels If the first 15-20 second don’t hook you, the rest of the song does not get listened to,” she pondered.

When asked about Nepotism in the Hindi music industry, Ragini said, she felt insulted after the remix version of ‘Lamberghini’ for the movie Jai Mummy Di was sung by Neha Kakkar and Jassie Gill, leaving her out. “It was a little disheartening, and this is where the credit and recognition matter” while starring out into the distance with a sad smile.
