Pushpa 2 Smashes Records on Day 5: Allu Arjun’s Film Earns Rs 64.1 Crore, Nears Rs 600 Crore Net Collections

Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 continued its unprecedented box office domination by becoming one of the highest-grossing films in Indian cinema. On its first Monday, the film smashed all expectations by raking in a staggering Rs 64.1 crore net across all languages. This remarkable feat brought its total net collection to Rs 593.1 crore, as reported by Sacnilk.com. Pushpa 2 witnessed a record Rs 162 crore gross on Sunday after the longest extended weekend in history. It became the second movie to achieve the feat of crossing Rs 150 crore in one day, with both records now held by the franchise. The movie also achieved a seldom-before feat in North India and recorded single day collections close to Rs 100 crore gross. No movie had reached even crossing close to Rs 70 crore in the territory, but that didn’t stop it from reaching a century and making the rule book for Pushpa 2 unbreached.

Monday was just spectacular. Advance bookings and the massive crowd demand fueled the momentum. The going so far has been so brilliant that Pushpa 2 might just reach within striking distance of the Rs 600 crore net benchmark. That again has put everyone talking whether it will actually go near the all-time record. It’s still early days, but the speed so far has suggested it could perhaps rival or even go beyond the enormous feats Indian cinema had earlier done as the box-office juggernaut.

Pushpa 2 witnessed an enormous revival in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, where the collections on the first day were marred due to high ticket prices. The film collected more than Rs 40 crore on Sunday alone, which brought the four-day total for the Telugu states to Rs 178 crore, just behind RRR’s Rs 193 crore. Even Sunday witnessed collections close to Rs 13 crore, and in a single week, the overall box office collections reached Rs 43 crore—the highest ever collected for a non-Hollywood film.

Adds come in the form of Karnataka, also, as Pushpa 2 continues to beat all other previous record holders, including RRR and Kalki 2898 AD, in collecting back-to-back double digits. Though it is doing modestly compared to others, this film will do long-run with record values in totality.

Pushpa 2 is not just a film but a cultural phenomenon. Its record-breaking, critically acclaimed and unmatched with audience love, marks it as one of the most epic triumphs in the annals of Indian cinema, surpassing regional films to become a landmark in Indian cinema’s history.
