Pankaj Tripathi on paparazzi culture: It doesn’t appeal to me
Actor Pankaj Tripathi said, even though such (PR) exercises may make him relevant, they will not let people remember him. The actor’s statement came at a time when there is debate about Bollywood celebrities paying for PR on social media. The hazard of most nude picture taking is that the individual will end up chained to a particular image for life, according to bollywood Filmmaker Madhur Bhandhuk; “Image banane ke chakkar Mein padoge na toh jeevan bhar chakkar mein hi rehna padega. Nothing will come out of it.” Tripathi tells us.
The 49-year-old said for him it is necessary the spectators exchange regarding his creation and recall him for the roles on the shows. “Main PR karke charchit ho sakta hoon, yaadgaar nahi ho sakta (I can become popular doing PR but I can’t become memorable),” the actors says, adding, “Woh main sirf apne character se honga ya jeevan mein jo mera aacharan hai usse. (That I can only do with my characters and my behaviour in life)” He further says,
‘Am I really humble or just faking it?’ That is what I am testing here, Tripathi, last seen in Mirzapur, throws in some humor.
On the frequency of celebrities being photographed by paps at airport and gym outings, Tripathi stated that while he is not a fan of such attention, he doesn’t protest the actions of the paps either. (But as much as I do not like the paparazzi, I do not have any problem with those who engage in it) He goes on to say, “for it is their livelihood.” To the matter of fact, they (paps) are even being invited at functions these days as part of the promotions of the film. It is pop culture (now) the actor opines.
When questioned on what he would like to alter concerning the film industry he says, “I am not interested in altering anything in this film industry”, instead, “people can do whatever they like,” concludes Tripathi.
