Nithya Menen Reveals how she feels after winning the National Award?
Fans of Nithya Menen were overjoyed when she received the National Award last week. She received a ton of congratulations on social media. When Nithya learned she was getting the prize, BollywoodLife chatted with her to find out her initial thoughts.

The actress from Thiruchitrambalam remarked, “I was initially in disbelief. I was unaware that our movie was up for the National Award until it was revealed. I was pleasantly delighted.

Nithya Menen’s portrayal in the Tamil film Thiruchitrambalam earned her her first National Award in the Best Actress category. The romantic comedy, which is directed by Mirthan R. Jawahar, also features Dhanush, Prakash Raj, Raashii Khanna, and Priya Bhavani Shankar. In the movie, Nithya plays Sobhana, who is Thiruchitrambalam Jr.’s close friend who loves him without asking anything in return. When the film was released, the actress’s character was incredibly well-received.
After winning the National Award, who did she call first? “Actually, I was at home and some work-related things were happening,” Nithya replied. I got the news from Dhanush over the phone. I talked to him, ended the call, and went back to work. Everyone told me, so I don’t think I needed to call anyone.”
Is Nithya relieved that she won a national prize, or is she under pressure now that the bar has been raised? “This is not the beginning of my career,” the actress retorted. I’ve worked on so many movies already. I therefore don’t sense any pressure. However, I do feel like myself again. I feel better, more at ease, and more settled. I can keep making the kind of movies I want to make, and people will accept them and recognize them.”
