Ishq Vishk Rebound Review And Rating: Love And Friendship Clash In Rohit Saraf’s Movie On Gen-Z Chaos
Bollywood romantic film Ishq Vishk
Rebound feels like a Luv Ranjan movie but for some reason, it’s not being directed by Luv Ranjan. This GenZ romantic comedy is directed by Nipun Dharmadhikari who has written the screenplay for the movie based on the 2003 Blockbuster Ishq Vishk which launched Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao.
This film has been directed by a Marathi, Nipun Dharmadhikari known for his acting skills, although it is his Hindi directorial venture. With its screenplay written by Kookie Gill and Sumit Arora, and directed by Raj Puri and Yunus Sajawal under Tips Films Production banner by Ramesh Taurani and Jaya Taurani, the movie casts three main characters- Raghav Saraf, Sanya Roshan Khan and Sahir.
It presents the theme of love and friendship being a subject to changes, and that their friendship is not immune to challenges, as the three individuals go through various phases of their lives. Sanya is involved with Sahir whereas Raghav is girl friendoji of Riya (Neha Grrewal). When both couples decide to separate Raghav and Sanya gradually develop feelings for each other despite Raghav’s assertion that nothing can come out of the kind of rebound relationships that they found themselves in.

The film developed an episodic storytelling style where Raghav, an aspiring screenwriter, writes a boy-with-girl love story on the screen as he comes out of a failed relationship and can’t decide the climax of his story. It focused on the Gen-Z experience by showing the red-flag-green flag, the break-up, hook-up culture and the continuous loop of dating.
Rohit Saraf deserves a special applause for being the most efficient lead as his cuteness is just too vibrant for the character he plays. Such affable on-screen demeanor is also evident in his stint in Netflix’s Mismatched in which Dharmadhikari also happened to be the director; Sunit sensibly fits perfectly being a twenty-something desperately trying to cope with real life, relationships and jobs.
Pashmina Roshan who is Hrithik Roshan’s cousin stars as the current generation girl who fights with her parents and complains about every problem but is intelligently surviving through all the hitches of teenage life. Although Pashmina is satisfactory in her portrayal of the character Sanya, Naila Grrewal comes as Riya even though her screen time is very limited, is quite good. But the show-stealer in the movie must be Sarahf and he is sure to emerge the ultimate winner.
Despite the screening time of one and a half hours attempting to explore a great deal about relationship stakes within Ishq Vishk Rebound- fading love in a marriage, friends turning enemies and sustaining the ropes to free themselves from parents’ dynastic visions. In its effort to appeal to the urban populace, the film is marked with apparent social themes with clear messages about the society.
