Mika Singh Weighs in on India’s Got Latent Controversy, Urges Forgiveness for Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina While Stressing Responsible Influence

Mika Singh has weighed in on the ongoing controversy surrounding YouTubers Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina, encouraging the public to forgive them. Earlier, he had commented on the India’s Got Latent debacle, wherein he remarked that while both influencers are “sweet” individuals, they just did not know how to handle success well. According to Mika, if Ranveer had turned down Samay’s invitation to the show, this could have been all avoided.

“I have no personal issues with Samay Raina; he is a sweet guy. Many people have told me he is a big fan of mine and also a great musician. Ranveer is also a very nice person; he is gracious and poised. However, his biggest mistake was going on that show. Their platforms are vastly different. Ranveer’s show is more respectful and decent, while Samay’s caters to a different audience. If Ranveer had not participated, this situation wouldn’t have occurred,” Mika was quoted as saying to India Today.

Mika further claimed that this was not for the first time when some vulgar comments had been made in India’s Got Latent. He insisted that there had been controversies surrounding the show before and that such influencers should learn to act responsibly.

“Samay’s show has had more vulgar moments in the past. If such remarks are made in a country like India, they will naturally cause an uproar. Just because Samay is successful doesn’t mean others should blindly follow his approach. Both Samay and Ranveer have achieved great heights, but with influence comes responsibility. They need to guide the youth in a positive direction,” explained Mika.

The singer stated he has nothing personal against them, adding that their families should not be dragged into controversies. Though he may support cancellation for a time, it shouldn’t be permanent.

“I don’t have anything against them, and their families should not be dragged into this matter. If necessary, the artist should be banned for a while. This incident serves as a lesson to all other influencers; they cannot behave irresponsibly. These are young people who have gained success early in life, and I urge the world to forgive them for this. They are very articulate and well educated but simply failed to manage their stardom,” concluded Mika.

Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina are currently facing huge scrutinies since Ranveer was alleged to have made some inappropriate comments on India’s Got Latent. Reports suggest that during an episode of this show, he posed a lewd question to a contestant along the lines of an offensive sexual proposition involving a huge sum of money that ultimately resulted in a police complaint filed against Ranveer, Samay, and several co-judges, including Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Makhija. The FIR levelled charges against them for promoting obscene and sexually explicit content under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

In the aftermath, Ranveer Allahbadia countered the outrage by issuing a public apology via a video statement. Following that, Samay Raina deleted all episodes of his India’s Got Latent show from YouTube to limit the damage. Nevertheless, the controversy has continued to ignite arguments regarding influencers’ accountability and the influence of the content they make on the audience.
