Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul have welcomed their first child, a baby girl. The couple shared the joyful news on Instagram, and wishes poured in from Bollywood stars.

KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty are now proud parents! The first child born to the celebrity couple is a sweet little girl, and they shared the heartwarming news with their fans. They announced the joy in Instagram post of an elegant painting of two swans, with the message, Blessed with a Baby Girl. 24.03.2025. Athiya and Rahul. Keeping it simple yet emotional, they captioned the post with an angel emoji, expressing their immense joy.
Athiya’s brother, excitedly reshared the post on his Instagram stories, announcing that he will be an uncle. Meanwhile, their father, the veteran actor Suniel Shetty, too, gave the news with a love and an evil eye emoji, showing his love as well as the protective blessings for newborn.
As the news broke, Bollywood blazed its own trail on social media congratulating the couple. Kiara Advani, who is also pregnant, celebrated the good news with red heart emojis. Arjun Kapoor further commented, rather humorously, that, “🥟 is here!!! #squishy!!! Congratulations guys.” Parineeti Chopra also sent sweet lines to the couple, writing: “Congratss guys.” Other well-wishers were Masaba Gupta, Sagarika Ghatge, and Shanaya Kapoor, who all rejoiced in the event of the little one.
In their note announcing the pregnancy in November 2025, Athiya and KL Rahul had additionally inserted: “Our beautiful blessing is coming soon. 2025.” Not sharing the expected date, Suniel Shetty, however, had during an interview, revealed that the couple was expecting a baby come April. Excitedly he mentioned how household talks were now completely focused on the grandchild, revealing their eagerness to welcome the newest member of the Shetty-Rahul family.

Just some few weeks before the arrival of the newborn, Athiya excited fans with breathtaking pictures from her maternity photoshoot. The images captured the heat of intimacy between the couple, snuggling up on a couch, with another featuring Athiya in sleek black gown holding the glow of her pregnancy moments. There radiated in the images love, warmth and anticipation for what lies ahead of them as parents.
2019 was the year where seeds for the love story of Athiya and KL Rahul were sown through a mutual friend. After dating for a few years, the lovebirds exchanged wedding vows in January 2023 in an intimate marriage held in Suniel Shetty’s lavish Khandala farmhouse. They affirmed their second anniversary this year with a sweet Instagram post. “Happy 2 to my forever,” Athiya captioned a loving picture that she shared with Rahul.
