Kesari Chapter 2 Box Office Day 1 Prediction: Will Akshay Kumar and R Madhavan’s Historical Drama Open Strong with ₹8 Crore Collection?

The eagerly awaited historical drama Kesari Chapter 2, with Akshay Kumar and R. Madhavan in lead roles, is slated for release on the 18th of April. The film, directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, takes off from the previous one and captures the legal and emotional aftermath of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre of 1912. Naturally, high are the fanfare and expectations with such a heavy patriotic subject, on such a scale with such a mega star cast. But how would the film fare in the box office on its opening day?

All trends are being scrutinized by trade experts, who have maintained forecasts that Kesari Chapter 2 will attract up to ₹5 to ₹8 crores in its domestic box office debut. Well, it is also said that, should walk-ins and spot reservations gain real momentum, then the day 1 net domestic collection could see a high of anything from ₹8.50-9 crores. Conservative trends, however, have it touching ₹5 crore.

There are low expectations for an opening day storm with the slow advance booking, perhaps a contrast to the original Kesari glory. This may occur mainly because of the change in the subject-from war heroes to courtroom drama. Both themes are patriotic yet cater to different viewers. Moreover, promotional activity has been subdued relative to other major Bollywood releases; this could also affect the early numbers.

However, making such predictions based on the opening day forecast is putting the cart before the horse. With both Akshay Kumar and R. Madhavan having a loyal set of audience among them, the weekend numbers will definitely show a clearer path toward success.
