In response to public request, Amitabh Bachchan at 81 years is back as the host of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16. A Moneycontrol report unfolds the amount has been paid to the Bollywood superstar since the quiz show was aired in the year 2000 and how much he is paid per episodes now.

Amitabh Bachchan came to the KBC at the lowest points of his career agreeing to host the first season in the year 2000. It is a copy of the British programme Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?. The massive success of the first season brought Amitabh back to every household; and helped revive his film career as well. That year he starred in the Aditya Chopra’s blockbuster romantic musical drama Mohabbatein.

- KBC 1 – ₹25 lakh
- KBC 2 – ₹25 lakh
- KBC 4 – ₹50 lakh
- KBC 5 – ₹50 lakh
- KBC 6 – between ₹1.5 crore and ₹2 crore
- KBC 7 – between ₹1.5 crore and ₹2 crore
- KBC 8 – ₹2 crore
- KBC 9 – ₹2.9 crore
- KBC 10 – ₹3 crore
- KBC 11 – ₹3.5 crore
- KBC 12 – ₹3.5 crore
- KBC 13 – ₹3.5 crore
- KBC 14 – between ₹4 and ₹5 crore
- KBC 15 – between ₹4 and ₹5 crore
- KBC 16 – ₹5 crore
Amitabh came back again for the second season. However he had to withdraw due to health problems. The actor with whom he acted in Mohabbatein and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham Shah Rukh Khan took over the show from him in the third season. But due to public demand Amitabh has again hosted the 4th edition of the show. Since then, he has hosted every season of the popular quiz show, up to the sixteenth season, which went on air this week.
In terms of movies, Amitabh will be next doing Ribhudas Gupta’s Section 84 and TJ Gnanavel’s Vettaiyan, With this he will be debuiting in Tamil through Vettaiyan starring Rajinikanth.
