Shashi Kapoor’s sons, Karan and Kunal Kapoor, made a rare public appearance together at Aadar Jain and Alekha Advani’s Mehndi ceremony in Mumbai. The event, held at the NSCI Club in Worli, saw the two brothers and Kunal’s son, Zahan Kapoor, posing for photographers in a moment that thrilled Kapoor family fans. Their joint appearance was special, as the brothers are not often seen together at high-profile Bollywood gatherings.

Karan Kapoor, dripping in charisma in the latest black apparel, was an absolute delight to behold. His brother Kunal took the orthodox way, though, sporting a beige kurta ensemble and matching brown shawl. Their nephew Zahan Kapoor, who is rapidly making his mark in Bollywood, sported a fashionable white kurta and grey shawl. All three of them reminded us of being members of the Kapoor family, exuding poise and tradition.
This is the first time this has occurred at the Mehndi ceremony, following a reunion recently at Randhir Kapoor’s 78th birthday party on February 15, when Kapoor brothers were reunited. Karan, Kunal, and their family members, including Neetu Kapoor, recollected sweet memories from their family past, with fans delighted to see them all reunited again.
For those who are familiar with little of the Kapoor family background, Karan and Kunal are sons of late movie legend Shashi Kapoor and wife Jennifer Kapoor. While Kunal remained back in Bollywood to act, featuring in some high-budget movies, the career trajectory of Karan was different. After starting out as an actor, Karan immigrated to the UK in 1988 and became a famous photographer. He now owns his own photography company in London, having moved his focus from acting and modeling to taking pictures with his camera.
Karan Kapoor began his Bollywood career with the 1978 Shyam Benegal directed Junoon, with his father Shashi Kapoor, Shabana Azmi, and Naseeruddin Shah. A few of his other notable roles include Sultanat (1986), Loha, and Afsar. As successful as he was, later on he shifted focus from acting to modeling and became a household name in the campaigns of the iconic Bombay Dyeing commercials. Soon enough, he discovered that his true passion was photography.
When asked during a 2016 interview whether he’d ever go back to acting, Karan gave an honest answer: “I’d love to. But I don’t know if anyone wants to see me!” While his days as an actor are likely numbered, however, Karan’s fans remain stuck in the past and remembering the actor and his career that defined him.
