A recent comment on the social network said that Bhansali had offered the role to Aishwarya Rai before giving it to Chopra. The comment stressed that while Priyanka gave a power packed performance, it is hard to even imagine Ranaut in the same role. This led to discussions regarding casting processes and selection an actress and effects of her decisions for her acting career.

However, in recent interviews including the ones she had with Siddharth Kannan she also claimed to have turned down big films like Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Sultan, and Sanju. She said that Salman’s offers were sweet but she was dissatisfied with those offered roles and said that she could not take any of them. She also remembered one time when Salman asked him what else he could give her and she stood firm on the choices of projects she opts for.
