Juhi Chawla Reveals the Emotional Turmoil Behind Her Low-Key Wedding with Jay Mehta and the Supportive Role of Her Mother-in-Law
Juhi Chawla who is a successful actress in the Bollywood appeared in recent interviews to disclose that she had emotional problems the days before her glorious wedding ceremony to her husband the industrialist, Jay Mehta. Recently Juhi was a guest of honor at a function organized by the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry where she narrated how the death of her mother the previous year had dampened the festivities.
Overwhelmed by Grief and Pressure: In the beginning, Juhi’s wedding is described as being a big event, organised in the manner befitting a successful actress. However, she faced severe emotional stress in the later months of her business growth due to the death of her mother. “I was shooting for some of the biggest films of my career and was to get married; my mother had died only a year back,” Juhi said. Her inability to find joy and work through her feelings to perform as a police-detective uterus her character.

A Bold Decision to Scale Down: Upon recognizing how much Juhi was tormented living with Chaddha and knowing the pressure his family put her under preparing for the big marriage, Juhi’s mother-in-law decided to change things and ask Chaddha to do away with the big rich wedding and instead have a small intimate wedding. People must have been invited maybe of about 2000 individuals; She said, ‘Abhi nahi horahi hai’ (It is not the case now). This important decision cut the number of wedding guests to 80-100, making Juhi feel a bit better.

Starting Fresh and Changing Habits: This change was a big step in Juhi’s life and also led to new habits. “I used to eat chicken, but after a year or two, that changed. Jay turned me into a vegetarian,” she said, showing how her marriage affected what she eats.
