Harshvardhan Rane is enjoying the success of the re-release of his 2016 film Sanam Teri Kasam. The romantic drama, co-starring Mawra Hocane, has been drawing large crowds to theaters since its re-release on February 7. Actor John Abraham recently congratulated Harshvardhan for the film’s success, sharing a sweet note on his Instagram stories. John posted the film’s poster and wrote, “Finally….@harshvardhanrane you have got your due.”
Earlier, Harshvardhan shared a video of himself arriving at a theater where fans had gathered to watch the film. The actor, dressed in formal attire, greeted the crowd warmly, shaking hands and interacting with them. Fans, especially women, cheered as they saw him, making the moment special. In his caption, Harshvardhan humbly attributed the film’s success to cooperation, stating, “I merely did my job, Deepak sir completed his assignment, and now you are doing yours! #ReRelease #History made #SanamTeriKasam 5.14 crore on Day 1.”
Directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, Sanam Teri Kasam opened with a strong ₹4 crore on its first day and collected ₹5 crore on the second day, bringing its total earnings to ₹9 crore in just two days. This is nearly half of what the film earned during its entire original run in 2016, making it one of Bollywood’s most successful re-releases. The film is currently competing with Badass Ravi Kumar and Loveyapa in theaters.

Interestingly, the re-release has already surpassed the film’s original lifetime earnings of ₹8 crore. On its opening day alone, the film sold around 3 lakh tickets, showcasing its massive popularity. Despite not performing well during its initial release, Sanam Teri Kasam has made a strong comeback, dominating the Hindi market for two consecutive days.
Meanwhile, plans for Sanam Teri Kasam 2 are underway, with Harshvardhan Rane confirmed to be part of the sequel. However, the female lead has not yet been announced. The success of the re-release has reignited interest in the film, proving its enduring appeal among audiences.
With its impressive box office performance and growing fan support, Sanam Teri Kasam has cemented its place as one of Bollywood’s most successful re-releases.
