Filmfare Awards 2024: Full List Of Winners!
The 69th edition of the Filmfare Awards, held on January 28 in Gujarat, showcased the glitz and glamour of Bollywood. Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor emerged as the big winners, securing Best Actor trophies for their outstanding performances in ‘Rocky Aur Rani…’ and ‘Animal’, respectively.
Vikrant Massey’s ’12th Fail’ took the spotlight by winning the maximum number of awards, including the prestigious title of Best Film for the year 2023. The star-studded event, hosted by Karan Johar, featured electrifying performances by Bollywood celebrities.
Top Honors for Power Couple: Power couple Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt took center stage, dominating the awards with their exceptional performances. Ranbir Kapoor clinched the Best Actor in a Leading Role (Male) trophy for his powerful portrayal in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s controversial film ‘Animal.’ Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt secured the coveted Best Actor in a Leading Role (Female) award for her stellar performance in Karan Johar’s romantic family drama ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.’
Best Film and Director: Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s biographical drama, ’12th Fail,’ emerged as the Best Film of the year, triumphing over tough competition. Vidhu Vinod Chopra himself was recognized as the Best Director, adding another feather to his illustrious cap.
Critics’ Choice: In the critics’ choice category, Devashish Makhija’s thriller ‘Joram’ claimed the Best Film (Critics) award. Vikrant Massey, Rani Mukerji, and Shefali Shah received accolades for their outstanding performances, adding a layer of critical acclaim to the star-studded evening.
Musical Brilliance and Lyrics: The awards also celebrated the musical brilliance of the industry. Amitabh Bhattacharya’s evocative lyrics for ‘Tere Vaaste’ from ‘Zara Hatke Zara Bachke’ earned him the Best Lyrics award. The Best Music Album title went to the team behind ‘Animal,’ including Pritam, Vishal Mishra, Manan Bhardwaj, Shreyas Puranik, Jaani, Bhupinder Babbal, Ashim Kemson, Harshwardhan Rameshwar, and Gurinder Seagal.

Avinash Arun Dhaware’s cinematography in ‘Three of Us’ and Jaskunwar Singh Kohli and Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s editing for ’12th Fail’ received recognition. Harshavardhan Rameshwar’s background score for ‘Animal,’ and Kunal Sharma’s sound design for ‘Sam Bahadur’ and ‘Animal’ showcased the technical prowess that enhances the cinematic experience.
Debut Recognition: The debut categories acknowledged fresh talent entering the industry. Tarun Dudeja received the Best Debut Director award for ‘Dhak Dhak,’ while Aditya Rawal and Alizeh Agnihotri were recognized as the Best Debut Male and Female for their performances in ‘Faraaz’ and ‘Farrey,’ respectively.
Lifetime Achievement: In a moment of nostalgia and respect, David Dhawan received the Lifetime Achievement Award, acknowledging his significant contributions to Indian cinema.
