Farhan Akhtar Confirms Don 3 Shoot Will Begin This Year with Ranveer Singh Taking Over the Iconic Role, Reassuring Fans Amid Production Rumors

Fans have been waiting with bated breath for Ranveer Singh to step into the legendary shoes of Don, after Bollywood legends Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. Following the announcement of Don 3 in 2023, a few rumors circulated that production had faced some hiccups, keeping fans in the dark. But director Farhan Akhtar has now spoken up, assuring that the highly anticipated film will go on the floors this year.

Farhan Akhtar also spoke with India Today recently about Don 3 in an interview. Farhan Akhtar was asked to confirm whether Don 3 was going on track or not, and he promised fans that the project is on track. “I am not evading any question. Don 3 begins this year, and 120 Bahadur will hit the screens towards the end of the year,” Farhan disclosed. His honest statement has given hope to those fans who had lost hope for a while. Additionally, last November, Excel Entertainment, the production company of the Don franchise, released a statement to dispel rumors about the production schedule. The statement clarified that both the producers and Ranveer Singh are on the same page that the timeline of Don 3 has not been altered. The announcement emphasized that there had been no delay reports and alleviated fears from fans that the film’s lofty ambitions of bringing a cinematic extravaganza remained intact.

The special announcement clip was made available in 2023, and it featured the introduction of Ranveer Singh as the new Don. Ranveer can be seen stepping into the character confidently in the video, something that left his fans eager and curious about what he would do with the character. To put a personal stamp on it, Ranveer posted a picture of himself from childhood, in which he had played the character at home, providing a nostalgic look at how close he is to the character. In his post, Ranveer recognized the onus that lies upon him in carrying on the Don legacy, wishing that the audience would accept his take on the character with as much affection as the earlier versions.

In addition to Ranveer Singh, Kiara Advani too has been finalized to play the lead role, generating even more hype for the movie. Viewers are looking forward to witnessing the chemistry between the two actors as they set off on this action-packed ride.

It features Adarsh Gourav, Vineet Kumar Singh, Shashank Arora, and Anuj Singh Duhan, being yet another engaging addition to Farhan’s repertoire.
