Dipika Chikhlia who left an unparallelled screen presence as Sita in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan of 1987 has till today retained a fan following with her special performance that was a trendsetter. In an interview given recently, she said for Ramayan, people are messing out by making it repeatedly. Dipika also supplemented that people attempt to do something different with Ramayan which turns it into another thing which is not really the angle we are required to focus on. Pooja Batra also expressed her annoyance with Adipurush and the sudden attempts made to alter appearances of characters of the movie by Prabhas.
In an interview with India Today, Dipika Chikhlia said “Honestly, I am quite disillusioned by people who keep making Ramayan because I don’t think you should be doing it. People are making a mess of it. I don’t think people should be making Ramayan again and again because every time they make it, they want to bring in something new; a new story, a new angle, a new look.
Discussing the movie Adipurush she said “they gave her a pink colour satin (saree in ‘Adipurush’) the same for Saif (Ali Khan who portrayed Ravana in ‘Adipurush’) They gave him a different look they really wanted to do something difference creatively but what you are actually trying to do is you are spoiling the whole impact of what Ramayana is all about.

Dipika Chikhlia also expressed her thoughts regarding the upcoming Nitesh Tiwari movie Ramayana and said that people should not interfere with religious books and she doesn’t want to do this. She said, “It’s wrong to play with religion say things and then just drop it. There are so many things that they can discuss apart from Ramayan. Let them discuss so many freedom fighters. There are so many facets in history that they can talk about the bravery of the unknown fighters for the freedom of the country. Why Ramayan alone?”
The highly awaited film, Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, has Sai Pallavi and Ranbir Kapoor as Ram and Sita, respectively. Arun Govil as Dashrath and Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi will also be in the movie. Ravana will be portrayed by South Hollywood star Yash, according to rumors. In 2025, the film is slated to hit theaters. Allu Aravind and Madhu Mantena are the producers. In addition to Ramayan, Dipika Chikhlia starred in a number of films and television series, including Raat Ke Andhere Mein Khudai, Sun Meri Laila, Luv Kush, Dhartiputra Nandini, Hosa Jeevana, Cheekh, and Vikram Aur Betaal.
