Actress Digangana Suryavanshi encountered misjudgment from Manish Harishankar, the director-producer of the series ‘Showstopper,’ claiming that she misled them and took money from the team. However, her team has recently announced that the Mumbai Police have closed the case against her as they found the allegations false. To support her innocence, the team offered the media an RTI report.

Digangana’s Team Responds: Digangana’s team later explained the situation in a social media post saying that, “On behalf of Digangana, we would like to officially state that the allegations levelled against Digangana Suryavanshi in the complaint filed by Manish Harishankar to the Mumbai Police have been proven false. The police have closed the case. The RTI report has been given to media publications in confidence which is clear in itself.”

They thanked the Mumbai Police for investigating the matter deeply and the audience for standing by Digangana. The team stressed that their decision to stay mute is to allow the police come up with a neutral decision. Their statement said, ‘We are grateful to the Mumbai Police for the fair investigation that they conducted and for presenting the truth We are thankful to all the well-wishers who always believed in her Digangana has a clean image and she has upheld it.’

Background of the Allegations: In June, Digangana was sued by MH Films for cheating and criminal breach of trust under sections 420 and 406 of IPC. The complaint stated that she fooled the company into believing that she had engaged big celebrities like Akshay Kumar as guest presenters for ‘Showstopper’. Apart from this, she also used the celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan to help the project. Further, the lawyer of the production house, Falguni Brahmbhatt also accused Digangana of demanding a huge sum of money and threatening Harishankar for not paying the same.
