Samantha Ruth Prabhu Turns Her Engagement Ring Into a Pendant After Divorce from Naga Chaitanya: A Fresh Start and Sustainable Choice

Samantha Ruth Prabhu has taken the plunge toward new beginnings after separating from husband Naga Chaitanya. The couple announced their separation in September 2021 after being married for four years, and it was heart-wrenching for their fans. Well, it seems like now Samantha has decided to turn a new leaf through a very symbolic act of reportedly converting her diamond engagement ring into a pendant.

Surat-based jewelry designer Dhrumit Merulia has gone viral claiming that Samantha has converted her engagement ring into a necklace that she wears regularly. Dhrumit explained the process in a video on Instagram, adding that this repurposing trend is growing in number. His post read. “Samantha Ruth Prabhu isn’t the only one who has repurposed her engagement ring after divorce, and it’s a growing trend. Many people are even buying new divorce rings to celebrate their new life.”

This is not Samantha’s first instance of giving mementos a second life. In 2024, she made headlines after she repurposed her wedding gown for an awards ceremony. Kresha Bajaj, a fashion designer, was engaged to redesign the gown that was soon drawing attention from fans, labelling it as her “revenge dress.” In an Instagram post, she shared some insights about sustainability: “We cannot ignore sustainability anymore. We’re past that stage when it was a choice. It’s now a necessity for the longevity of our planet that we call home.”

Her post also emphasized the need to make informed decisions to help protect nature, stating that the repurposing of old clothing is merely an initial step toward a sustainable lifestyle. She also encouraged her followers to make small changes in their lives which could cumulatively help build a more sustainable planet.

Through her healing journey, Samantha has found peace and an opportunity for new beginnings. Rumor has it that she has started dating Raj Nidimoru, one-half of the popular creator duo Raj & DK. They have previously worked with each other on a few projects, including The Family Man 2, Citadel: Honey Bunny, and an upcoming project named, Rakt Bramhand.

Meanwhile, Naga Chaitanya also seems to be moving ahead and has reportedly married actress Sobhita Dhulipala in December 2024. The pair was wed in a private ceremony in his ancestral home, Annapurna Studios, Hyderabad.
