Bollywood Updates: Vikrant busy in promoting ‘Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba’

Vikrant Massey shared about a childhood experience that changed his life permanently. While promoting his movie ‘Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba’, the actor appeared on an episode of the Prakhar Ke Pravachan podcast, discussing the role he portrays in the film. The actor recounted a story from his school years where he came close to inadvertently causing harm to an epileptic classmate, demonstrating how appearances can be misleading.

Sharing his personal experience

Discussing his role as Rishu in the movie, Vikrant mentioned that his character possibly has a backstory that explains why he chooses to separate his ability for violence. “I’ll share with you my personal life journey. I was practicing karate at school when I turned aggressive and began to feel unbeatable. “I confessed that I struck a boy in the jaw while playing during recess, without knowing he had epilepsy,” he stated.

Vikrant went on to say, “I witnessed a boy foaming at the mouth and passing out. His elder brother arrived and attacked me violently. Everything occurred within a short span of seconds.

Never raised my hand

I was too worried about the boy potentially dying to notice the pain from being beaten. I stopped practicing karate after realizing I had the capability to cause someone’s death. Regrettably, following that incident, I continued to be physically attacked in altercations as I chose to never defend myself again. He also highlighted that fortunately, I refrained from physically harming anyone again as the image of that boy foaming at the mouth remained fresh in my mind. I had a couple of fights with friends after that, but I made sure not to get physical again due to fear of being provoked.

Vikrant’s career

Vikrant entered the Bollywood industry for the first time in 2013 with the film Lootera. He went on to appear in films such as Dil Dhadakne Do (2015), Half Girlfriend (2017), A Death in the Gunj (2017) and Lipstick Under My Burkha (2017). He received widespread recognition for his work in 12th Fail (2023). Next, he will appear in ‘Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba’, alongside Taapsee Pannu and Sunny Kaushal. The movie will be available on Netflix starting August 9, 2024.
