Bollywood celebrities are often known for making crazy headlines and distasteful remarks about one another. While some choose to silently take it, many prefer to publicly talk about it.
By talking about it, these Bollywood sensations did something wrong, and they apologised publicly.
SALMAN KHAN
One of the biggest and the most prominent names in Bollywood, got himself involved in a controversy when he compared himself to a ‘raped woman’ during a promotional event for his film ‘Sultan’.
After this, Salman landed himself into a public outrage and pissed several women empowering organisation. Later, his father, legendary Salim Khan came at rescue and took to the social media giant Twitter to apologise on his behalf.
The actor too later apologised for this saying that he shouldn’t have made such comments and made a humble request to journalists that not to use it anywhere.

Khan, earlier also made a remark after Mumbai’s 26/11 attack saying, “Too much hype has been created around the 26/11 attacks because elite people were targeted.”
The actor however later apologised and said, I’ve always had a faith in our police and armed forces and it was not my intention to hurt anybody’s sentiments and if I have done that, then I am really, really sorry.

AKSHAY KUMAR
Bollywood’s Khiladi also faced a lot of criticism and had to apologise publicly more than once. Akshay received a lot of flak when he violated the code of conduct for the Indian flag, by holding it upside down.
Later, the actor took to Twitter and apologised for violating the code of conduct for the tricolor.
Then another was when Akshay’s bodyguard punched one of the passionate fans who was very excited to see the superstar at the Mumbai airport. The fan who got thrilled after seeing Akshay but got hit by the actor’s security guard.
The video of the incident also got viral and Akshay caught headlines for the wrong reasons. However, the actor later apologized to the fan who got caught up in this and said he condemned the bodyguard and gave him a warning and apologized to his fan.

Recently, he has again apologised to the fans after getting trolled on social media for promoting Vimal Elaichi. Being known for fitness, Akshay was hugely criticised for endorsing a product by a gutka brand. The actor tweeted, “I’m sorry,” for such endorsement and with all humility, I step back”.

SUNNY LEONE
People have always criticised Sunny Leone for her past and there were many jokes which were making their rounds on Sunny Deol and Sunny Leone and the actress obviously didn’t like that.
Later, Leone had apologized to Sunny Deol for the jokes and even took the responsibility for them. Sunny wrote, “Mr. Sunny Deol, I just want to say that I am so sorry, mujhe maaf kar do, kyunki itne horrible, weird jokes aapke aur mere upar ban gaye meri wajah se. So, I am sorry.” (Please forgive me, because of these horrible, weird jokes on you and me – it’s all because of me).”
BHUVAN BAM
Comedian/YouTuber Bhuvan Bam who created a hurricane of laughter was criticized by the audience for his distasteful remark on ‘pahadi women’ in one of his videos.
Later, after deleting the scenes from the video, Bhuvan came clean and tweeted, ‘I’m aware that a section in my video has hurt some people. I have removed that part from the video. I apologise to everyone whose sentiments I have hurt.’
Even Delhi police were asked to take strict action against the comedian and his YouTube channel for hurting women’s sentiments to which Bhuvan had to apologised.
ARIJIT SINGH
The singer in an open letter to Salman Khan asked for an apology for (unintentionally) doing something at a concert that left him furious. The superstar reportedly felt insulted and decided not to forgive Arijit.
The singer also stated that at every occasion, he tried his best to make the superstar understand what went wrong that unfortunate event night.
SIDDHARTH
The Rang de Basanti actor found himself in a controversy after responding to a tweet from shuttler Saina Nehwal on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s security breach during his visit in Punjab.
Siddharth was accused of using sexist remarks when he responded to Saina’s tweet. Siddharth wrote on Twitter post, “Subtle cock champion of the world”.
His tweet created a stir on the microblogging site Twitter and people were furious at the actor for using ‘derogatory’ and ‘vulgar’ comments.
However, the actor later clarified and said that the word ‘cock’ was used to indicate the ‘cock and bull’ idiom with no sexually explicit reference.
The shuttler also responded to Siddharth’s apology by saying, “I am happy that he apologised. But, see, it is about women, he shouldn’t target a woman like that, I am not bothered, and I am happy and God bless him,”.
MAHIRA KHAN
The Pakistani actress who made her Bollywood debut with Shah Rukh Khan-starrer ‘Raees’, became a target after her Halloween post/photograph surfaced online which read “Mahira ko bahaar nikaalo”. The post/photograph was considered a representative image of an Indian regional political party.
The post was taken as a dig at the Shiv Sena, which lead to stop Mahira and another Pakistani actor, Fawad Khan, to promote their films in Maharashtra. Mahira issued an apology for hurting people’s sentiments on Twitter.
SAIF ALI KHAN
There was a stir on social media when Saif Ali Khan’s film Adipurush showed a humane side of the mythological character Raavan. Saif apologised for one of his statements during an interview that has caused controversy and hurt people’s sentiments. He also said, “Lord Ram has always been the symbol of righteousness and heroism for me.”
Also, a few years back, it was reported that Saif Ali-Khan had snagged Oscar-winning Hollywood actress Natalie Portman to star in his next film and then the actress’ lawyers had swiftly responded to the internet claims by reportedly serving Ali-Khan’s Illuminati Films with a ‘cease and desist’ legal notice along with a demand for an immediate public apology.
Ali-Khan has come clean and in a statement, he said to the actress: “It was a joke, I am sorry.” The Bollywood star then issued a public apology to Hollywood’s Natalie Portman
According to multiple news reports, Saif Ali Khan also apologized to all Pakistani people after facing serious criticism by the neighbouring country over his controversial comment.

Paresh Rawal also landed himself in a controversy when he compared the royals (raja) and music (vaja) to monkeys (vandra).
Later, he went and apologised and said his statement was not to target the Rajput community as they are a splendorous community in India.
RANVEER SINGH
Ranveer Singh received backlash for participating in a sexist ad by Jack and Jones in its “Don”t hold it back” campaign, after it backfired big time for its content.
I’m sorry this happened. I treat women with the utmost respect both professionally and personally and would never do anything to disrespect them”, said the actor.
In the past, Ranveer apologise after making sexist remarks on Kareena Kapoor Khan and left people disappointed and angry on social media.
SHWETA TIWARI
Actress had to apologise for her controversial ‘bra size’ remark. The actress allegedly referred to God while making a controversial statement about her innerwear during her the promotion of her upcoming web series ‘Show Stopper’, which is based on the fashion world.
Shweta during the event, had said that her bra size is being taken by ‘bhagwaan’. Later, Shweta apologised for hurting the sentiments and clarified that the remark has been misconstrued.
A video of Shweta Tiwari’s controversial statement was gone viral on social media, in which she purportedly referred to God while speaking about her innerwear and was heavily criticised.

Farah khan and her director husband Shirish Kunder were found guilty and apologised to Shahrukh Khan when Shirish made a nasty tweet saying, “I just heard a Rs 150 crore firework fizzle.”
This seemed to irk the King Khan of Bollywood and got into a tiff with Shirish at the party and reportedly slapped him.
But, later bot Shirish and Farah realised the indecency of the comment and immediately made peace with Shahrukh Khan.
Shirish also mended his ways by apologising on Twitter saying, “I’ll always regret one thing that I feel very guilty about. I sincerely apologise for my tweet on Ra.One.”

Everyone in Bollywood is fully aware of the fight between Salman Khan and Vivek Oberoi over his former girlfriend Aishwarya Rai. Randeep landed in a dispute when an old video of him cracking a problematic, sexist joke on politician Mayawati, the former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh got viral. His video hurt public sentiments and made Randeep apologise publically for his remarks.

Filmmaker Karan Johar amid lockdown shared a video where some his celebrity friends partying when at the same time doctors and policemen were working day and night against the pandemic.
