In an interview with Lana Del Rey for Interview magazine, which was released on June 13, the Billie Eilish singer talked about how she views relationships and admitted that she feels uncomfortable with the way she acts when she’s in love. With reference to her song “CHIHIRO,” 38-year-old Del Rey questioned 22-year-old Eilish about if it’s “more hazardous to fall in love with you? Or is falling in love more risky for you?” “Hell yes, Lana,” Eilish answered. The “Ocean Eyes” singer briefly joked before revealing that it’s “50-50.” “I literally hate who I am so much when I’m in love,” she stated.

“I was going to say that I truly dislike being out of control, but there are other aspects of it that I quite enjoy. I dislike being vulnerable in a romantic sense, and I also struggle with control and power issues,” she went on. She went on to say that this was “uncomfortable” for her and made her wonder how many times she had “really been in love.” Lana Del Rey asked Eilish whether she “does get hurt sometimes” during the interview, noting that she is skilled at masking her pain, especially in light of the vulnerability that she displayed in her most recent album.
