The attacker, later known as Kulwinder Kaur, a CISF constable, told the story while explaining herself and her concern regarding Ranaut’s disrespect for the farmers’ protest. The controversy relating to the farmer protest and Ranaut’s alleged misidentification of a protestor. The clash at the airport was civil and became physical after the flame was ignited and reached its peak.
Born in Sultanpur Lodhi, Kapurthala district of Punjab, Kaur sprouts from a strong farm household, as the sister of Farmer leader Sher Singh Malhiwal. Despite her actions leading to suspension and legal consequences, they are in accordance with the sentiment existing during the current farmer protest.
In response, Ranaut, in a video statement, shared the information about the event which happened and referred to the physical violence that was used. However, while making sure of her safety, she also expressed her concerns regarding the extremism issues in the Punjab province, thereby pointing out issues of concern beyond security.
