Barbie box-office day 1 collection: is less than Oppenheimer, but still a good number
The Barbie box office day 1 collection touched ₹5 crore in India. This was much lesser than Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer which raised more than Rs 13 crore on day one itself.
Barbie has been directed by Greta Gerwig and stars Margot Robbie in the lead as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken. The movie is the first live-action Barbie film and a chance for many to see their loved toy in an actual movie. Animated movies on Barbie have been done in the past, but having a real person playing the role of Barbie, living in a Barbie world is just a dream come true for all who have grown up playing with Barbie.

Gerwig has done a fantastic job as always and has managed to captivate millions with her work. Her movies like Lady Bird and Little Women are also incredible and worth watching.

Though Oppenheimer opened huge in India, the same was not the case in the US. In the US Oppenheimer has collected $10.5 million, whereas Barbie has already earned $22.3 million.
So, as people keep choosing between Barbie and Oppenheimer, it is important to appreciate both as pieces of art that have been beautifully depicted.
