Archana shared how, as a young girl from a small town, she admired Rekha’s work, especially in her debut film Sawan Bhadon (1970), directed by Mohan Segal. She never imagined meeting Rekha, let alone working with her in the 1989 action film Ladaai, directed by Deepak Shivdasani.

During the shoot of Ladaai, Rekha had invited Archana to her makeup room, sharing makeup tips, including how to apply fake eyelashes—a beauty trend Rekha was renowned for in Bollywood. Reflecting on Rekha’s kindness, Archana expressed gratitude for the experience, describing Rekha as warm, irrepressible, and a living legend.
Archana also recalled a candid conversation they had on the Filmcity lawns during Ladaai. When Archana asked Rekha about the man in her life, the actor cryptically replied, “You don’t know who he is?”—a moment Archana fondly remembers for its playfulness.
