AP Dhillon criticizes quick-sell concert tickets, calling it unfair to fans in feud with Diljit
AP Dhillon, amid his ongoing feud with Diljit Dosanjh, has criticized the practice of concert tickets selling out within seconds, calling it an unfair marketing tactic. In a recent appearance, Dhillon shared his thoughts on the issue, particularly addressing Diljit’s Dil-Luminati Tour, which has seen shows sell out almost instantly.
Dhillon expressed his concerns about this growing trend in India, stating, “Artists are being unfair to their own fans. Shows are sold out in 15 seconds, but nothing is truly sold out. It’s all a marketing strategy. Promoters buy tickets, and fans are left waiting, only to buy them at much higher prices,” he said.
He went on to explain that although his team considered using similar tactics, they decided against it. “We can’t go to bed knowing we did this to the fans who wanted to attend the show,” Dhillon added. He also claimed that if anyone needed extra tickets, he could easily provide them. He emphasized that music is being treated like a game, which, in his view, takes away the enjoyment for fans.
Dhillon stressed that artists are not bigger than their fans and should not engage in such practices. He warned that fans deserve to buy tickets at reasonable prices, and sooner or later, people would realize the issue. Although he did not name Diljit directly, Dhillon hinted that artists using such tactics could harm their long-term reputation.
The feud between AP Dhillon and Diljit Dosanjh has gained attention on social media, with the two artists recently referencing each other in public. During a concert in Chandigarh, Dhillon claimed Diljit had blocked him on Instagram. Diljit later addressed this on Instagram, saying, “I never blocked you. My issues are with governments, not with artists.” Dhillon responded with a video, showing the status of Diljit’s account before and after the block, confirming the dispute.
This ongoing rivalry continues to fuel speculation among fans and the media.
