Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan recently sparked outrage online when he posted a tribute to the song ‘Kajra Re,’ which starred Amitabh, his son Abhishek Bachchan, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, only to exclude his daughter-in-law from the post.

On May 27, Amitabh retweeted a post from Abhishek’s fan page to celebrate the 19th anniversary of the movie ‘Bunty Aur Babli’ and the song ‘Kajra Re.’ While the post from the fan account mentioned Aishwarya Rai’s special appearance in the song, Amitabh’s response was more about his experience of performing the song live with Abhishek and left out Aishwarya. This led to a lot of dismay and backlash from fans of Aishwarya, accusing Amitabh for snubbing the actress.
Several fans took to the micro-blogging site to express their disappointment, stressing that Aishwarya was instrumental in the success of ‘Kajra Re’. Some of the comments were, “Kajra Re was entirely on Aishwarya only. Both of you were just backup dancers in that song,” Another one criticized the Bachchan family for sidelining Aishwarya saying, “It was sad to see you and your family ignoring her, she is so gifted.”
This is not the first time that the Bachchan family has been criticized for ignoring Aishwarya in public. Earlier, Amitabh’s daughter Shweta Bachchan had received flak for not tagging Aishwarya in an Instagram post to celebrate Navya Naveli Nanda’s ramp show while Aishwarya was present at the event.
