The film is based on India’s retaliatory attack on a Pakistani airbase in Sargodha. In 1965, the Indian and Pakistani air forces came into direct confrontation, where on 6 September, the Pakistan Army attacked the Indian Air Force bases at Pathankot and Halwara, and in response the Indian Army attacked Sargodha. In those days, Sargodha was considered one of the strongest bases in all of Asia, yet Indian pilots attacked the very next day, inflicting heavy damage on Pakistan’s most secure base. The story of Sargodha is significant because it is the only occasion when the Indian Air Force has awarded a Mahavir Chakra posthumously to a fighter.

The caption read, “Take to the skies this New Year with #SkyForce – the untold story of India’s first and deadliest air strike ever. The trailer was released on January 5. The film will hit the theatres on January 24, 2025.

Apart from Akshay and Sara, the film also stars Nimrat Kaur in the lead role. Recently, a video of Vir and Sara shooting for the song went viral on social media. The ex-couple was reportedly dancing to the song Garhwali, which is reportedly a promotional track.
