Abhay Verma Celebrates ‘Munjya’ Success by Bringing Joy to Underprivileged Children and Finding Inspiration in Their Love

Abhay Verma, who delivered the first major hit of 2024 with “Munjya” in June, chose a unique way to celebrate its success. Instead of the usual industry parties, Verma spent time with underprivileged children. “It is said that if you win a child’s heart, you have won God’s heart. That was my intention,” he shares. “I am really fortunate to be in a position to spread happiness and make a small kid feel special through my work. This was just my little way to make God smile through those little kids.”

At 26, Verma reveals that visiting these kids wasn’t new for him. “I do visit them often, but this time felt especially soul-fulfilling. Hearing those kids call me by my character’s name Bittu and sing my song felt like a very personal win. We ate, danced together, and I gave them gifts. Their warm hugs made me feel like a kid again,” he says.

Verma emphasizes that the celebration wasn’t just for him. “I was deeply inspired to work more for these special people in my life. I went there to listen to them, but they gave me so much love in return,” he reflects. “Munjya’s success has resonated throughout the industry. Wherever I go, actors, producers, directors, and technicians tell me, ‘Abhay, you have opened the gates for all of us.’ The gates were shut for the longest time for a newcomer to give a successful film in theatres. Opening those gates is the biggest opportunity one can get,” he shares.
