Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, expressed his administration’s readiness to conduct assembly polls in the Union Territory whenever directed by the Election Commission of India. During a conference called ‘Samvaad,’ he took a gentle jab at certain political leaders for spreading misinformation about elections and affirmed his commitment to stay in Jammu and Kashmir until the successful completion of the assembly polls.

Sinha assured that all necessary information regarding arrangements for the elections had been submitted to the Election Commission of India. Emphasizing the democratic processes, he highlighted that the authority to conduct assembly polls rests solely with the Election Commission of India.

LG Condemns Misleading, Vows Strong Anti-Terror Stand

The LG criticized political leaders for allegedly misleading the public and reiterated his primary task of establishing the nation’s authority in Jammu and Kashmir, emphasizing the successful elimination of top commanders of terrorist organizations. Sinha reassured that there is no place for terrorism in the region, citing effective coordination between the army, CRPF, and police. He acknowledged attempts by neighbouring nations to stir trouble but pledged to address and avenge any incidents, particularly those leading to the martyrdom of jawans.

Discussing the situation of Kashmiri Pandits, Sinha recognized the government’s efforts in providing jobs and homes for 3,000 people but acknowledged the need for additional measures to ensure the resettlement of the community.
