World Wildlife Day 2019 is observed on March 3 every year to raise awareness of endangered animals and plants, and ways to fight against wildlife crime. On December 20, 2013, the UN added World Wildlife Day to its calendar as an official event to be celebrated from March 3, 2014, onwards.
World Wildlife day was announced due to different wildlife threats. Disturbance in wildlife had negative economic, environmental and social impacts worldwide. It does affect our ecosystem and its working.

Both plants and animals in wildlife play a vital role in ecology. This day talks about the preservation of varied forms of flora and fauna and raises awareness about the benefits people to reap due to a balanced ecology. Everything in the natural world is connected. An ecosystem is a community of living and non-living which need to be balanced always for a good go ahead. Every little animal within the ecosystem has a vital role in the well-being of the planet. If one species are rendered extinct due to some imbalance, it can have significant fatal effects on throughout the rest of the chain. For example, even a small bee is, in fact, a crucial work in the factory of nature.

The theme of World Wildlife Day 2019 is: “Life below water, for people and planet.” World wildlife day 2019 will focus on marine animals for the first time.
This day will be followed by several media events and seminars to curb wildlife crimes. The ocean contains nearly 200,000 identified species, but actual numbers may be in the millions.
