Chaos in Delhi Assembly: AAP Leaders Expelled Amid Protests as CAG Reports Set to Unveil Key Findings

Delhi Assembly Session Heats Up: As the second day of the Delhi Assembly session commenced on Tuesday, Speaker Vijender Gupta expelled Leader of Opposition Atishi and other Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) officials, including Gopal Rai, for chanting slogans while they protested against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for supposedly taking down the images of Baba Saheb Ambedkar and Bhagat Singh, interrupting Lieutenant Governor Vinai Saxena’s address. The 14 outstanding Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports are scheduled to be presented in the Delhi Assembly today, just days after Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta approved their tabling during the first Cabinet meeting last week.

What took place on the first day of the Assembly session?

The opening day of the Delhi Assembly session started with Cabinet ministers, among them Delhi CM Rekha Gupta, and other Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) swearing in within the House. BJP MLA Vijender Gupta was chosen as the Speaker of the Delhi Assembly. During the session, former Chief Minister Atishi and other AAP leaders protested in the House, accusing the BJP of supposedly taking down pictures of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and Bhagat Singh removed the Chief Minister’s office and replaced them with a portrait of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The leaders of the AAP called for an apology from the governing party and requested the removal of the PM’s portrait.

The second day of the Assembly session starts with AAP leaders demonstrating against the BJP

The second day of the Delhi Assembly session started on Tuesday with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs, along with the Leader of Opposition in the House, Atishi, persisting in their protest against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for reportedly taking down the pictures of B R Ambedkar and Bhagat Singh from the Chief Minister’s office.

‘Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva states that the CAG report will reveal AAP’s corruption’

Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Virendra Sachdeva told reporters before the Assembly session on Tuesday that the CAG report will reveal the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) corruption in the national Capital.

“The opposition must be prepared to face consequences for their actions.” Sachdeva stated, “Once presented, the CAG report will reveal the Aam Aadmi Party’s corruption.”

Regarding the claims made by AAP leaders about BJP removing the pictures of B R Ambedkar, Sachdeva stated, “Atishi Marlena is not truthful.” Atishi Marlena and Arvind Kejriwal have shown disrespect towards the Constitution authored by Babasaheb Ambedkar. While the images of Babasaheb and Bhagat Singh adorn the office, engaging in petty politics and deceit defines AAP’s traits.”

The 14 outstanding Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports will be presented in the Delhi Assembly on Tuesday.

The conclusions of a report titled ‘Prevention and Mitigation of Vehicular Air Pollution in Delhi, 2021,’ regarding efforts to manage air pollution in Delhi highlight monitoring stations situated near trees and roadways, which may distort readings; Pollution Under Control Certificates (PUCC) granted simultaneously to two vehicles, and a lack of records on the tax revenue gathered for constructing parking facilities in the city.
