Bengaluru Woman, Mother Arrested for Murdering Husband Over Alleged Affairs
A 37-year-old real estate businessman named Loknath Singh from Bengaluru was killed by his wife Yashaswini alongside her mother Hema Bai because he had both extramarital sexual relationships and conducted illegal business activities.
They had been married for two years as their marriage took place in Kunigal during December. When Yashaswini’s relatives learned about her union with Loknath they discovered his supposed adultery and shady business conduct leading to family conflicts. The disclosed information created continuous disputes between the couple who considered filing for divorce. The situation grew worse because Loknath threatened his wife along with her mother which led them to create a scheme to end his life.
Law enforcement reports show that the accused used sleeping pills to drug Loknath before he became unconscious. Yashaswini deceived her husband into joining her at Chikkabanavara for a discussion and her maternal relative followed them in an auto-rickshaw. Policemen found evidence that Loknath died from a throat-slitting in a secluded area of the car before his attackers left the location.
The public revealed Loknath’s death when they found his body in an abandoned vehicle on March 22 so the authorities could intervene. Yashaswini together with Hema Bai faced arrest by the police at 5:30 p.m. after police conducted their initial investigations. Authorities continue investigating these women who received legal charges under existing sections of the law.
The fatal car incident demonstrates that domestic disputes can lead to catastrophic results yet such domestic conflicts must be addressed legally and with counseling instead of resorting to violent actions.
