The 38th Surajkund International Crafts Mela, a leading crafts fair globally, began today, February 7, 2025, in Surajkund, Faridabad, Haryana. The event will continue until February 23 and showcase local and global crafts,

handwoven items, traditions, along with some delicious multi-cuisine dishes for attendees.

The Mela is coordinated by the Surajkund Mela Authority and Haryana Tourism, in partnership with the union ministries of tourism, textiles, culture, and external affairs, drawing more than a million domestic and international attendees.

The Surajkund Mela is unique for several reasons, including handmade goods, live cultural displays, and the attendance of both national and international artisans. The fair serves as an excellent venue for artisans eager to display their skills.

• Date- February 7 to 23, 2025
• Venue- Surajkund, Faridabad, Haryana
• Timings- 10:30 to 8:30 pm daily

More than 1000 stalls will be featured in the Mela showcasing a diverse range of handicrafts, textiles, and cultural items.

The Mela is being held in several sections that showcase different Indian states and offers visitors a glimpse of India’s rich artistry and heritage.

How can one buy tickets for Surajkund Mela?

For the first time, the Mela organizers collaborated with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to facilitate ticket sales. Individuals looking to buy tickets can access ticket sales via various channels:

• Online- Visitors who are interested can purchase tickets via the DMRC mobile application. 
• Metro Stations- Physical tickets can be purchased at all metro stations from Friday until February 23, from 9 am to 6 pm, as well as at the Mela location.  
• On-site- Tickets may also be bought right at the venue entrances. 
• Special Counters- To ensure easy access, extra ticket booths are established at important entry locations. 

The partnership between DMRC and Mela organizers is anticipated to enhance visitor numbers and provide a smooth experience from buying tickets to gaining entry.

On weekdays, the ticket cost is Rs 120 for each individual, whereas on weekends the cost is Rs 180 per individual.

• Individuals going to the Mela can utilize DMRC parking amenities available around the clock at certain metro stations, and from there, they can access public transportation.
• A shuttle service will be provided from the closest metro stations to the Mela location.
• Parking areas with security and support are also being established close to the fairgrounds.
• It is advisable to utilize public transit or carpooling options to prevent traffic jams, particularly during weekends.

• The Surajkund Mela chaupal (Outdoor theatres) will host live presentations by folk performers, dance groups, and musicians from across the nation.
