Earlier, Congress leader Sampurnanand enjoyed the record of the oldest Chief Minister of UP who served the total years 5 and 344 days. He done it in 2023 surpassing Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda. Here, one must mention that Mayawati has been sworn in for the generation of the Chief Minister four times, and Mulayam Singh Yadav – three times, but they managed to overcome the records of Sampurnand and Adityanath for only one time.
Adityanath is one of those leaders who have taken their party to second term even in UP, they broke 37-year-old record of Narayan Dutt Tiwari of Congress who had been sworn in second time as CM of undivided UP in 1985. Since the creation of Uttrakhand, Yogi Adityanath is the first Chief Minister of the state in who succeeded in getting majority to come in power again for the second time.
He is also the Chief Minister who dispelled an age-long political folklore that transferring to Noida would cost him his much cherished Assembly seat. Adityanath is a five-time MP of the Lok Sabha, having been first elected in 1998 to the twelfth Lok Sabha. Yogi Adityanath is a bit of an oddity in the Indian political landscape, born in 1972 in Panchsheel Marg, Lucknow, UP, he was first elected to the Lok Sabha in 2014, and became the first time Chief Minister of UP in 2017 when BJP had secured 325 out of 403 seats in the assembly.
