UP CM Yogi Calls For Strict Action Against People Involved In Alleged Railway Sabotage Conspiracies
Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, gave police officers explicit instructions on Monday to increase surveillance and take decisive action against anyone suspected of plotting to destroy railroad tracks or create accidents.
This declaration comes after an event in Kanpur that almost prevented a serious disaster. An alarm was set out after a damaged gas cylinder and other “objectionable” objects were discovered close to the railroad track where the Kalindi Express had stopped. The train driver saw the cylinder and engaged the emergency brakes, bringing the train—which was headed from Prayagraj to Bhiwani in Haryana—to a stop.

CM Yogi Adityanath stated, “In the last few days, there have been indications of a conspiracy to damage railway tracks or cause a railway accident,” in a message made on X (previously Twitter). There have also been a few arrests. This is a really important issue. Police officers at the zone and range levels should stay in close communication with the local GRP and RPF. Every anarchist component of this massive conspiracy should be the target of severe action and increased intelligence.”
Former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh and leader of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Mayawati, also offered her thoughts on the subject. She said, “It’s satisfying that the plot to set off a train accident by setting gas cylinders, etc. on the railway track in Kanpur failed,” in a post on X. To protect public and rail safety, severe action against the offenders is required following a thorough investigation.”
Authorities are currently looking into what caused the occurrence and making sure that safety precautions are in place to avoid such incidents in the future.
