A 23-year-old motorcyclist named Akshat Garg met a fatal end when his vehicle crashed with an SUV on Golf Course Road in DLF Phase II in Gurugram. The accident happened early in Sunday morning, exactly 5:45 AM and was on a GoPro camera provided by his fellow biker friend Pradyuman Kumar.

Garg who also hails from Pochanpur, New Delhi, wore helmet and gloves as a measure of safety upon being employed to exercise the horse. Having set off from different areas, both riders were on their way to congregate with a number of motorcyclists. Garg had travelled from Dwarka and on the other hand Kumar started his journey from New Palam Vihar. It was DLF Downtown from where they left and their next place to visit was Ambience Mall.

In the video of the incident, Garg is seen riding towards a turn when a Mahindra XUV 300 coming from the opposite lane crashed into him and his motorcycle.. The accused was driving an SUV which had the sticker of political party; he rammed Garg in such a manner that the man was thrown over the car and the bike was completely damaged.

Police and other emergency services were informed without much delay and an ambulence reached the site in less than half an hour. Garg was taken to the near by hospital, still he was pronounced dead on the arrival. A senior police officer added, “Neither the car driver nor Garg could avoid the collision.” The occurrence has elicited concerns over compliance with traffic laws as well as road safety in the region.
