Delhi LG inspects drains in Nizamuddin, calls ground reality shameful:
Following an inspection on Sunday, Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena declared the condition of three arterial drains in the Nizamuddin neighborhood “appalling & shameful,” as they were discovered to be severely clogged with silt, sludge, and debris, according to Raj Niwas authorities. The AAP retaliated against the Lt Governor by claiming in a statement that “the LG has come forward, just to pay lip service and engage in dirty politics now that the monsoon is almost over.” The LG should have pursued legal action against the PWD Secretary, the Chief Secretary, and any other officials implicated in the misconduct. “If the LG doesn’t act against CS Naresh Kumar soon, this is all simply a staged photo op and transparent political posturing. Saxena claimed in a series of posts on X that he had visited and examined today the old Barapulla bridge at Nizamuddin, as well as the Kushak, Sunehri, and Barapulla drains.
“The actual situation is horrifying and deplorable. He stated in the article that “urgent corrective action is needed to ensure smooth water flow in order to mitigate flooding.”
